Advanced Course Objectives
Students who successfully complete the advanced elements of this course will be able to:
- explain ten basic evidence-based facts about how nutrition can affect cognition and emotions in vulnerable individuals.
- identify the applications and contraindications of ten advanced nutrients available over-the-counter in health food stores, used to improve cognitive function and emotional balance.
- apply the principles of this course to their own lives to improve their ability to perform professionally.
- explain how nutrition relates to psychotherapy scope of practice citing relevant statutes, BBS disciplinary standards and APA ethics guidelines.
- explain how research design issues have impacted nutrition research in the twentieth century, and how these issues are being addressed by contemporary research.
